Rewrite postpartum: the lost art of creativity

I was always told that when you have a baby it’s love at first sight and you’d be filled with a happiness like no other and that making sacrifices for the new addition to the family would be effortless.

Well that’s just not true.

I do love my little one but it hasn’t been a fairy tail story. During the pregnancy I was able to continue to be my creative self and made lots of art as I’ve always been used to. But now I’m lucky if I can be creative with dinner! I’m a stay at home and have to do it all from the diaper changes to the breastfeeding to the house chores and dinner making. I’ve had to learn to be patient with life and allow myself to be hopeful that someday I’ll be able to dabble in all that I once loved to do.
