These are a selection of nursing bras donated from our feedback crew of new moms. Or the, "I might have an ugly one or two you can burn 🤣" collection, as one mom put it.

The top middle one is mine - I had seven of those things, five black, 2 ugly beige, and I wore them nearly every day for 18 months!

We've spoken to so many moms since embarking on this project, and every single one described the same process of trawling the internet, looking for something - anything! - that would fit, be comfortable, give boob access, and not break the bank.

And this is what we ended up with ☝️

But when we asked our moms what they wanted to wear - what their IDEAL nursing bra would look like - they said this:

"I'd like something in a range of fabrics and colors so it feels less utilitarian i.e. it doesn't look any different to a normal bra!"

"Honestly, like a regular bra maybe in fun patterns. So many of the bras I saw were awful tan affairs or white, absolutely no fun. I loved my underwire one, because it also had a pattern and a teeny tiny ribbon bow between the boobs. It felt less clinical, less "ALL YOU ARE IS A MILK MACHINE NOW"

"I would love to see lacy ones with a variety of colors and prints. The options out there are very limited."

"Like a regular bra! With some lift and padding. I’m relatively small chested anyway but what post-partum woman’s boobs doesn’t need a little lifting 🤭"

"Just like my normal bras! A lot of the nursing bras are super ugly. I would like some more attractive choices."

And why not?! Where are the bras we want to wear? The bras we love and want to wear for ever? That's why we created Maia 👍💪
